I was hoping people would chime in with resources about this issue, and I'm heading straight over to the Boston Public Library site to see if this book is available through them. Just to be clear, I do know that our country has this problem, with different manifestations in different eras. What I want to know more about are the social and psychological threads that all lead together into the current knotty, tangled mess.
