IT’S ON.
I’m revving the engine to get back out on the road for the Phone Whore/slut (r)evolution 2011 North American tour, and it’s a long fucking haul:
- 24 cities
- 87 shows
- Thousands more people getting the news.
This is bigger than last year, for sure. It’s also starting earlier, too, with a showing of Phone Whore at Momentum, a feminism and sexuality conference in Washington DC, on April 2. I’m hitting locations in the Midwest throughout April, back for the Boston premiere of slut (r)evolution in May, and then on the road again in June.
Earlier and bigger means this: I need more help from more of you, and sooner. My sponsor list is still growing, but those sponsorships are feeding the machine further down the road. Right now I urgently need …
Gas money. Really.
What, you thought I was just indulging in overused metaphors with this car/road trip motif?
Nope! I’m trying to raise $400 in hand by April 1 to get started on the Midwest mini-tour. And do you know much gas is going to cost for the entire 10,000+ mile tour? I do: about $1600, at currently gas prices. And then, well, my 1991 Toyota Corolla isn’t exactly on a warranty anymore. I asked my mechanic what I should do to prepare it for another epic road trip, and he said, “set money aside for when shit happens” (I’m aiming for $2,000).
The total I’m trying to raise toward my transportation costs of the tour is $4000. Any amount you can throw in to my big virtual bucket is going to get me that much further on the road!
